Reiki can be sent two ways: in person or from a distance. Both animals and people can benefit from reiki treatment. Reiki helps to remove any energy blockages or stagnation in the body which in turn helps your body to heal itself naturally.
Common reactions to reiki:
- A feeling of deep relaxation or lightening in mood
- Falling asleep
- Feeling very hot or warm if you receive touch reiki
- For animals that need to detox, they may feel the urge to eliminate. Give them plenty of water afterwards and ensure they have a quiet and cozy place to recharge.
Distance Reiki For You or Your Animal
Unlike a home visit, distance reiki treatments are done without the client being in the same physical space as the practitioner. These treatments are the same as in person sessions. How do you know if distance reiki is for you? If you do not live in Toronto, have a busy schedule, or your animal doesn’t like to travel, distance reiki can be a wonderful option for you or your animal.
For people and animals I recommend a time when you will be resting or not doing anything active, for example: just before bedtime. Many people find that when they receive reiki they get so relaxed that they will get a strong urge to fall asleep. Animals often react the same way but it depends on the animal. Please observe your animal’s behaviour during the distance reiki treatment. Not only will you be able to notice if the treatment is working for your animal but you could also provide some valuable feedback to me in future sessions.
Distance reiki appointments have flexible hours and days. Appointments are available at these hours: Mon-Fri 8am-9pm, Sat-Sun 10am-9pm.
Home Visits For You or Your Animal
Home visits are available within these boundaries: Steeles Avenue to the north, Don Mills Avenue to the east, Eglinton Avenue to the south, and Yonge Street to the west (see map below).
For your home visit, please note I will not be bringing a massage table. Please place a comfortable chair (that you can sit in with your back straight) in a quiet room. Wear clothes that you will be comfortable in and that are not too restrictive. You will want to be able to move and breathe freely during a reiki session. Layers may be a good idea as some people often report a feeling of heat emanating from my hands when receiving reiki. It’s a good idea to have some water nearby as you may feel thirsty after a session.
For your animal I will first determine if your animal is open to receiving reiki. When they are, I will spend some time getting to know them. Animals that are fearful or uncomfortable with strangers touching them may choose to receive reiki indirectly. Starting reiki in the same room as your animal will still impart the same benefits. In some cases animals will begin the session by receiving reiki indirectly and then when they become comfortable will move closer to me. Please try to remain calm when I give your animal reiki. Animals know when their companions are stressed, nervous and anxious and will often take on that energy. After all, if your loved one (your child, parent or sibling) were scared or anxious and couldn’t tell you why, wouldn’t you start feeling a little anxious as well?
Home visit appointments are currently limited in hours to Saturday-Sunday 10am-4pm as I get my practise set up. Hours will be expanded at a later date.
If you are unable to make your appointment you may reschedule or cancel. Please cancel or reschedule your appointment 24 hours in advance, otherwise I will need to charge you in full for the appointment.
